I’ve been a bit of a Renegade since I was a kid. I got into some trouble here and there. I was the most tardy student in my High School history! Teachers told me I would never graduate, but I did and made honor roll my senior year as a way of saying good bye, and thank you! I had my first born son when I was sixteen, and shortly thereafter, I graduated high school at the age of seventeen. Upon graduating, I bought my first investment property when I was only nineteen and started my career in sales/marketing at that same time. Throughout the next ten years I was enrolled in college part time, worked full time, and had my second son at 25. Another milestone at only 25, I bought my second investment property. In 2004, my youngest son, William Jr. and I moved to Stuart, Florida after Hurricane Jeanne and Francis devastated the area. Needless to say, I started my career in Hurricane Restoration from that moment on!
Learn More About Our Humble Beginnings
After Hurricane Irma struck in 2005, Billy and I chased the storm and landed ourselves in Boca Raton. We assisted many homeowners in putting their lives and homes back together. In 2007, I studied really hard to get my roofing and general contractors licenses, and shortly thereafter, America’s Choice Contractors was born! At the time I was a Financial Market and Real Estate Coach. Obviously not a great time to start a construction company, but we persevered anyway! For the next 12 years, I paid my dues and had my fair share of bumps and bruises. I learned a lot about myself along the way; did some skydiving, scuba diving, traveled to many amazing places and most importantly, got my son through high school as a single father. Throughout that time, I also learned a lot about the ins and outs of the construction industry in South Florida. Toward the end of 2019, I made the decision to focus solely on one trade that I really love, roofing! I simply love roofing! Being on top of a roof gives me a sense of freedom and the views from a rooftop … priceless.
At the beginning of 2020 with a new year and new decade on the horizon, I have officially rebranded and launched Renegade Roofing Co..
About the Name
I spent a lot of time and thought into the rebranding aspects of my company. After much agonizing deliberation and hearing the common question of “why Renegade?”, I decided on Renegade Roofing for 2 reasons:
1. It sounds really cool!
2. The truth is, I am a bit of a Renegade myself. I’m definitely not one who goes along with that “should be done” in life. I have blazed my own path and haven’t accepted any belief system or political biases thrown at me since I was a child. I do my own research and make educated decisions based on facts and reasons. I encourage you to do the same as theres a lot of bad information out there, always do your homework!
There are other less known uses of the word such as rebel, defied convention, changes religious and political beliefs, trailblazer… To me, this word means to question everything, make my own educated decisions not influenced by the media or popular culture and/or someone’s opinion. I ultimately decide whats best for myself and my family, as a Renegade should!
